Dr Spencer has been a committed country doctor for the last forty-five years.

His passion is to live and work in the rural & regional parts of Australia.

He graduated from Sydney University in 1972 and became one of the first Rural Training Registrars.

He gained higher subspecialty training in the UK in Obstetrics, Anaesthetic and Paediatrics.

On return to Australia he established a practice in Bourke in 1978 and then in Wellington in 1983 where he is still in fulltime practice.He has been a Supervisor of General Practice Training since 1980.

He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2004 for services to Rural Medicine and the Bill Hunter Award by the Rural Doctors Association for Exceptional Services as a Procedural Rural Practitioner.
